Gozo Beaches and Diving in Gozo

Gozo features some pristine beaches, including Ramla Bay on the northern coast. Ramla Bay is a unique red sand beach with the legendary Calypso Cave, referenced in Homer's Odyssey as location of Ulysses extended stay with the nymph Calypso, at its western end.

Marsalforn bay draws the most crowds of all the beaches in Gozo. Located near the villages of Xaghra and Zebbug, Marsalforn bay is one of Gozo's main fishing villages, home to a marina, a variety of summer homes, and several popular swimming areas. Marsalform bay serves as the point of departure for leisure cruises around the island of Gozo, boating trips, Gozo sailing adventures, and the launch point for many of Gozo's diving guides. Visitors to Marsalforn will find a lively atmosphere with plenty of entertainment and recreation opportunities, restaurants, bars and some premier Gozo Hotels and Accommodations.

Xlendi Bay features a small sand beach and a good location for swimmin, snorkeling, and beginners diving.

Dwejra features a trio of spectacular Gozo Attractions: Azure Window, the Blue Hole, and the Inland Sea. The Azure Window is a cliff outcropping with a hole in the middle. The Inland Sea is a small lake connected to the sea by a tunnel through the cliffs. While Marsalforn and Xlendi have been largely developed, Dwejra has remained undisturbed, offering visitors a glimpse of Gozo's pure natural beauty. The Blue Hole, in particular, is frequently remarked as among the best diving locations in Europe.
